Essential Experience:

*Suitable experience in a management role within a diverse and complex customer service environment including experience in managing staff and resources in situations of conflicting demands.
*Commitment to and experience of improving customer experiences through the effective use of digital access channels.
*Excellent customer service, communication and negotiation skills with experience communicating effectively with a wide range of diverse stakeholders.
*Ability to challenge and to drive forward service improvement whilst engaging and enthusing other to contribute and a track record of delivering improvements in the quality and efficiency of services.


JOB PURPOSE:
To be responsible and accountable for the delivery of a high quality, multi-channel
customer service in accordance with Council strategy that encourages the use of cost
effective digital services whilst also meeting the requirements of customers less able
to use self-service options.
To contribute to the development of corporate Customer Service strategy and to
implement the strategies through the effective management of staff, resources,
performance, projects and risks. To deliver service improvements, efficiency savings
and agreed outcomes for particular projects and service delivery/service level
agreements.
To ensure that all customers have a positive experience when contacting the Council.
The operational management of the Council's Customer Services including;
· Support to digital service users
· Telephone contact centre operations
· Customer Service Centre
· Housing and Homelessness Advice
· Borough Hall reception service.
To champion excellence in customer service throughout the organisation.
