Job description: Service Care Solutions are looking to recruit a Deputy Head Of Service to join the CREATE team on a temp to permanent contract.

This role is also suitable for qualified social workers with established Team or Service Manager experience

We are recruiting into a leading and highly successful provider (within the Independent Non-Maintained Sector) of specialist education in London and Essex for children with SEMH or ASC needs.

The CREATE service (Community Recovery, Education, Assessment and Therapeutic Experience) has been specifically designed to meet the needs of those pupils who have not been able to integrate into small-group learning.

Your role.

The Deputy Head of Service - Inclusion, will develop the integrated model of education, care and treatment provision maximizing the opportunities available for the school to contribute to the academic and social, emotional and behavioural development of each pupil.

Objectives of post
*Under the supervision of the Head Teacher, assist in leading on the strategic development, operational management, partnership management, supervision, delivery and review of the CREATE service
*Under the guidance of the Head Teacher, design and deliver effective and accessible engagement, assessment and treatment pathways that successfully address specific complex unmet needs and comorbidities
*To provide behaviour support consultation and management to the CREATE service for both individuals and groups encountering challenges in community education settings
*Under guidance from the Head Teacher, and with the co-Deputy Head of Service, lead on the recruitment and management of a team of clinical staff
*To hold specific strategic and operational management responsibility for all safeguarding issues across the CREATE service, ensuring the protection of all pupils from harm; the promotion of awareness of safety issues and the design and implementation of specific risk assessment tools and risk management protocols.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Essential Requirements

*Significant experience of directly working with complex and co-morbid Pupils diagnosed with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) in either an education setting or in a CAMHS settings or in residential care or a therapeutic community.
*Expert knowledge of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Needs including the use of evidence-based practice; highly specialist and innovative risk assessment and management tools and the use of structured professional judgement
*Expert knowledge of social work assessment policy and procedure
*Expert knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policy and practice
*Expert knowledge and understanding of innovative models of family, child and adolescent assessment, engagement and therapeutic intervention
*Ability to develop ideas to ensure the involvement of children, young people and families in the design and delivery of services.
*Ability to supervise and co-ordinate the provision of all counselling, wellbeing or other psychological services within the CREATE service including accessing the provision of expert professional advice or assessment
*Ability to identify the professional needs of staff and establish processes and procedures for addressing those needs in consultation with the HR department
*Experience of working collaboratively with functional heads in business development, finance, HR and other central services design, implement, monitor and review systems for collation of qualitative and quantitative feedback
*Line management experience of practitioners in order to manage the Inclusion manager and Integration and Induction PCC's and other specialists
