Job description: We have an exciting new opportunity available for a Deputy Manager to join a small private residential care home for adults with complex care needs in Colchester!

Salary per annum: £20,700

Hours and length of contract:
*PERMANENT POSITION
*39 hours per week - 2 supernumerary days and 3 shifts
*Flexible hours to meet service needs
*The service operates 24/7

Daily Duties:
The service consists of three separate apartments and provide care and support to adults with physical and learning disabilities and those diagnosed with ASD.

The apartments provide residential care for disabled adults with complex care needs and you will be responsible for the provision of effective and efficient support to these service users with the overall objective of increasing their social development and life skills to help them live as independently as possible.

Working as the Deputy Manager you will assist the Registered Manager with the day to day organisation and effective running of the service, providing leadership and management to the staff.
Your duties will include but are not limited to supporting the Registered Manager to:
*Monitor and support the delivery of person centred services to all people using the service
*Monitor and support the health and safety of both people using the service and support staff.
*Ensure that the actions of all staff directly supporting people using the service support their care, protection and well-being, and in compliance with external regulations, standards and monitoring bodies.
*Provide supervision to the support workers through effective recruitment and selection, inductions, coaching and performance management.
*Deliver effective inductions, including the Care Certificate and providing mandatory & service specific training as and when required
*Manage your staff teams, incidents, quality assurance, training and occupancy.

Location:
The service is 10 minutes from Colchester Town Centre and the mainline station which has direct trains to London Liverpool Street. Permit parking is available at the rear of the properties.

Person specification:
To be considered you MUST have an NVQ Level 5 in Adult Social Care or Level 4 and working towards Level 5. Knowledge of legislation pertaining to people with disabilities, care leavers and people living with learning disabilities/mental health issues/physical disabilities and a proven track record of achieving Good-Outstanding outcomes from CQC.
