Job description: Service Care Solutions is looking for a Deputy Home Manager to work in a mental health service in Hertfordshire.

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager
Salary: £38,000
Contract: Permanent Full Time - 40 hours per week
Annual Leave: 33 days incl bank holidays.
Hours of work: Usually Mon-Fri (9am to 5.30pm but requires flexibility)
Reporting to: Registered Home Manager
Accountable to: Chief of Staff
Location: Hatfield

Person Specification
Essential
* Qualifications: Registered Nurse (Mental Health) or RGN to take a lead with physical health
* Experience: Experience as Team Leader or similar. Knowledge of Psychological\ Cognitive Therapies use in Mental Health practice.
* Knowledge: Knowledge of therapeutic approaches that may include knowledge in non-pharmacological therapies. Knowledge of Care Programme Approach and associated statutory legislation. Knowledge of standard setting process.
* Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Flexible approach to care. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work flexibly over the 24-hour period. Ability to use the clinical supervision process effectively. Ability to identify and use opportunities for self- development. Commitment to the values of equal opportunities, policy and practice.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of qualification in Minor Illnesses.
* NVQ Level 5 or equivalent.
* An interest in innovative areas of practice.
* I.T. Skills/ Presentation Skills
* Research and Development skills.
* Experience of teaching.
* Knowledge of mental health act and associated legislation.

Main Purpose
* To lead on the Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation of individual care
plans.
* Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
* To participate in a range of assessments including risk and self-harm.
* To supervise a designated number of staff and assume a mentorship role for Care
Pathway staff.
* To assist in standard setting and evaluating quality outcomes.
* To assist with the day-to-day Management of the service and any future development
of the service.
* To take a lead in medication management ensuring that all repeat prescriptions are
managed and raised appropriately.
* Manage all medical equipment audits and ensuring that all replacements required
after use are ordered and are of a good standard.
