Deputy Manager
I am currently looking for a Deputy Manager for Nursing home in the York area. The role is permanent on a permanent basis with a view to interview ASAP.

Salary:
Starting from £16.50 per hour but negotiable depending on experience

Job Purpose
Your role as a deputy manager will be to assist and support the Home manager and wider care team to ensure continuity of care to residents by promoting and delivering high standards of care safely. You will be providing, at all times, advice and guidance and instruction to the care teams under supervision. Finally, you will be tasked with being a role model and ambassador for the organisation.

The Service
The organisation has many award winning care homes throughout the UK, providing care and support driven by a belief that all older people deserve the best quality of life. The service itself is a 42 bedded Nursing home Situated just south-east of York in the picturesque village of Wheldrake. Features include a separate dining area & conservatory for residents to relax in, a central courtyard and scented garden for those who wish to spend time outdoors. The service specialises in dementia and provides care and support for older adults including day care, respite care and residential care.

Duties Include:
*Monitoring the state of well-being of each resident, any changes impacting on care and care plans, and ensuring that new needs are met and recorded properly to reflect any variation.
*Identify factors affecting and trends of health and well-being of residents.
*Support home manager to identify and assess potential risks
*Contribute to CQC inspections
*Maintain an ongoing record of risks, interventions or investigations
*Assess complex and non-complex needs
*Provide clear direction to care teams
*Advise and lead on provision of interventions or treatments
*Plan and prepare the ongoing staff duty roster
*Deputise for the home manager
*Act as a Clinical lead within the home
*Act as first point of contact for residents, relatives, visitors and professionals
*Liaise with the home manager to market the home to potential residents, relatives ad social care professionals
Person specification:
*Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN)
*NMC Pin
*Understanding of National minimum standards and CSA 2000
*Understanding of NMC code of conduct
*Willing to study for Registered Managers Award
*NVQ level 3 or equivalent in team leading or management or equivalent qualification/experience
*Proven leadership or managing experience in care sector
*Experience working with elderly
*Experience in dementia care
*Possess strong clinical skills and be up to date with current practice
*Care and risk assessment and planning
*Health and wellbeing interventions
