Job description: NEW YEAR, NEW JOB! A Deputy Ward manager is required for a Private Mental Health Hospital within Essex!

Salary per annum: £34,000 pa

Hours and length of contract:
*Full time permanent position
*Long day shifts: 07:00-19.30
*Long night shifts: 19:30 - 07:00
*A regular shift pattern over a 7 day period
*20% supernumery time to undertake their deputy role
*Service operates 24/7

Positions Available:
*Adult Acute Ward

Daily Duties:
The hospital support mental health difficulties such as: anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, phobias, autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-harm, ADHD and sleep problems.

You will work as a Deputy Ward Manager is to provide senior nursing leadership to the ward nursing team in support of the Ward Manage and you will have 1 day a week protected time for deputy Ward Manager duties and have supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities will include:
*Work as a Senior Nurse to assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, a structured approach to nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes
*Implement, monitor and evaluate therapeutic interventions within an overall care programme, enabling people with mental health and or learning disability needs to develop coping strategies
*Identify deficits in skill mix and safe staffing levels and act to address these.
*Supervise team members and contribute to their overall CPD, mandatory training and appraisal process recognising the skills required across the team
*Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicate requirements to the wider team
*Contributes to the process of collaboratively assessing and acting on risks of harm, danger and abuse
*Ensure that risk is assessed and managed
*Deputise for the Ward manager as required
