Desktop Engineer

Job description: My client, a Local Council in Norfolk, is currently looking for 4 Desktop Engineers to join the company on a 1 month initial contract basis with extension potential.

The successful candidates will provide first and second line technical support for operational systems maintenance, resolve customer problems to provide secure, stable and reliable services, and assist with projects to introduce new or improved services.

This role requires staff that can conduct Frontline Support at a high level, supporting 6500+ staff within the local council. You will need to be able to deal with all issues relating to:

* OneDrive
* Mobile support (AirWatch)
* 365 outlook
* Apps not working
* Windows 7 / 8.1 / 8
* Other general IT issues

Support calls are at a very high level due to issues that have arisen after a full refresh of all the council's kit with HP machines with a mixture of Windows 8.1/Windows 7 and a very locked down O/S on the Win8.1 build.

Most support is via remote support to users machines, also including user training for the new functions for OneDrive, Office 365 etc. Major changes in working for users who will need help with how to's and work arounds and new ways of working.
