Digital Communications Officer

Job description: My client, a property group in Central London, is looking for a Digital Communications Officer to work on an initial 3 month contract basis.

In this varied and stimulating role, you'll work across all aspects of digital communications. Your responsibilities will include day-to-day management of the company websites and intranet, identifying and implementing new digital communications technologies, as well as delivering digital projects.

As the ideal candidate you will be digital savvy bringing plenty of energy and enthusiasm to the role. You'll have hands-on experience of website and/or intranet management, leading a network of editors and have excellent project management skills. You will be a great team player who thrives working under pressure with the ability to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.

The main duties within the role will be:

* Dealing with ad hoc requests for minor changes to SharePoint
* Day-to-day content management and digital optimisation of the websites and intranet content.
* Provide advice and support on the production process for websites and intranets, including research, content, navigation, wireframes, design, development and testing.
* Lead on website search engine optimisation (SEO) and content strategy development in order to increase visibility of our sites and encourage visits.
* Analyse and evaluate user interactions, producing regular reports and dashboards and making recommendations for improvements to ensure an optimal online user experience and conversion success.
* Establish and maintain support systems, guidelines and documentation for all areas of digital work, including requests logs, training documentation, user and CMS admin guidelines, domain name purchases, website servers, SSL certificates and business continuity plans.

Knowledge/Skills required:

* Extensive experience of using Microsoft SharePoint
* Working knowledge of at least one other content management system
* Experience of supporting and engaging internal customers, including website and intranet editors across the organisation
* Experience of using Google Analytics and other quality/performance/SEO tools
* Good understanding of optimising content for digital platforms
* Understanding of the principles of usability and accessibility, including knowledge of accessibility standards
* Good technical knowledge and the ability to convey this to non-technical colleagues
* Understanding of HTML and CSS
* Proficient in writing and proofreading/editing digital content
