Job description: Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Specialist Worker needed for Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, £17 ltd an hour

Start Date- ASAP
Contract End date - March 2020
Hours per week - 37
Pay rate - £17 ltd per hour

Job Description
*We are looking for a Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Specialist who has experience working with perpetrators and can bring their expertise to the role. You will need to be pro-active and show initiative.
*You will contribute to developing our approach to working with perpetrators of domestic abuse.
*You will proactively engage with perpetrators to assess their understanding of the impact of violence and controlling behaviour on both the victim and the children in the family, developing an action plan to erode the drivers of behaviour and mitigate the risk to victim and family
*You will co-work cases, working with the perpetrator independently from the allocated Social Worker. It will be essential for you to communicate and share information with the Domestic Abuse Specialist working with the family to ensure there is a whole family approach
*Enabling the parent to recognise and understand power and coercive control dynamics and patterns of abuse and its impact on their parenting, as well as the impact on their children, in order to empower them to make future positive choices for their family
*Supporting the parent/child to develop a personalised plan of support, to maintain safety in the event of an incident with focus on protecting the whole family
*Strengthening the bond between parent and child by creating personalised communication rand recovery strategies with families

Experience Required
*To be educated to A-level or equivalent standard
*Dealing with domestic violence; including with victims and perpetrators
*Significant experience of working with hard to reach and challenging clients with complex needs, delivering one to one tailored support and structured programmes
*Undertaking effective assessments of needs, risks and vulnerabilities and delivery of appropriate interventions to meet assessed needs
*Managing allocated caseload, planning, prioritising and workload
*Effective recording of case work
