Job description: The specialist will help develop the approach to working with perpetrators of domestic abuse. The applicant will work directly and engage daily with perpetrators to assess their understanding of violence and controlling behaviour on both the victim and children.
The post holder will co-work cases, working with the perpetrator independently from the allocated Social Worker. The Perpetrator specialist will have to communicate and share information with the Domestic Abuse specialist working with the family to ensure there is a whole family approach.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide one to one support to perpetrators of domestic abuse.
- Help the parent realise their impact of domestic abuse on the family.
- Support the parent/child to develop a personalised plan of support to maintain safety during an incident.
- Help the bond between parent and child strengthen.

Professional:
- Build and manage caseloads within one to one support.
- Provide personal recovery.
- Provide crisis intervention.
- Create personalised safety plans for the family.
- Support victims gain an awareness of domestic abuse in the household.

Qualifications (essential):
- Educated to A-level or equivalent standard.

Experience (essential):
- Dealing with domestic violence; victim and perpetrator.
- Working with hard to reach and challenging clients with complex needs.
- Undertaking effective assessment of needs, risks and vulnerabilities and delivery of appropriate interventions to meet assessed needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of key principles for the work with perpetrators.
- Ability to gather and analyse information from a range of sources to inform risk assessment and intervention.
