Sefton Council is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Early Help Worker to join our Localities Team. This role is vital in supporting families across Sefton through targeted and universal early help interventions that build resilience, empower residents, and improve life outcomes.
🛠 What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering holistic support to children (0–19) and families as the single point of contact
- Using solution-focused approaches to manage caseloads and develop tailored support plans
- Undertaking home visits, coordinating multi-agency meetings, and promoting safeguarding best practices
- Engaging families through 1:1 sessions and group activities
- Maintaining detailed case records, reviews, and reporting in line with Council standards
- Encouraging participation in community, voluntary and faith sector support services
- Experience supporting children and families in social care, early years, youth work, or related fields
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices, assessment tools, and early help frameworks
- Ability to work empathetically and challenge constructively to empower families
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confidence using IT systems to manage casework
- Flexibility to work across various delivery points and occasionally evenings/weekends
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (e.g. Health & Social Care, Childhood Studies, Youth Work)
- Casual car user allowance may be applicable
- Enhanced DBS clearance required
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings/weekends if needed
