Job description: Would you like to help Waltham Forest to create thriving, high quality, inclusive, safe and sustainable Early Years and childcare for the children of the Borough?

We are recruiting for the Assessment and Progress Lead working in a role where you will act as a key player in the 'Team around the Setting' model for Schools and PVI settings providing early years and childcare places.

The Early Year's sector in Waltham Forest has seen significant improvement over the last 5 years, increasing from 64% of providers being rated as Good or Outstanding by Ofsted in 2012 to 90% in December 2016. We are very proud of this achievement and believe that the key to this success has been working in partnership with providers across the Schools and PVI sector and providing holistic support, information and training to providers across all aspects of running quality provision such as Teaching, Learning, Assessment, transition and SEND/inclusion.


We are looking to recruit an experienced and dynamic individual who is able to demonstrate:


*A passion and vision for raising outcomes for young children
*A high level of knowledge and understanding of the factors relating to assessing children's progress and improving outcomes for all children.
* Training delivery skills, to a range of audiences
*Outstanding communication skills and experience of working in partnership with other key services and agencies.
*Composure in challenging situations
*Ability to multi task in pressurised surroundings
* Effective organisation skills
*Ability to communicate well and in a professional manner with internal and external partners, children, parents and other stakeholders
*A Systematic approach to managing your own workload



Key Responsibilities:

To lead on the monitoring of accurate assessment processes throughout EYs sector to ensure all children's needs are being met accordingly

To assist in the development and implement an assessment/compliance document for use by the Early Years, Childcare & business development team to enhance childcare providers understanding of the EYFS requirements, particularly with regards to assessment and progress of children.

To contribute to the development and implementation of a performance risk register to ensure risks are identified and measures put in place to address areas of concern regarding the EYFS Assessment requirements, Integrated Review (including the Progress check at age 2), transition arrangements and SEND Code of Practice

To lead on the monitoring of accurate assessment processes throughout EYs sector to ensure all children's needs are being met accordingly
