Job description: Education and Health Care Inclusion Officer
Leicester Childrens Services
£16-£17 per hour
3 Month Ongoing

We require a EH&C Inclusion Officer to coordinate and manage the administration of statutory assessment procedures for children with special educational needs and disabilities under relevant government legislation.

Major Objectives:
These will include, as appropriate, those that reflect key corporate priorities, for example, Cultural
Diversity, Social Justice, Environmental Quality and Economic Prosperity.

1.To ensure that all professional reports and advice relating to the statutory assessment of children with special educational needs and disabilities are collated to produce Education, Health and Care Plans under the relevant legislation, ensuring confidentiality at all times with line management of administrative support.

2.To liaise closely with parents and professionals across services and ensure the full and effective work of the section.

3.To comply with the requirements of relevant legislation.

4.To be proactive in implementing assessment procedures in accordance with the
relevant legislation and ensure that these are carried out in line with relevant regulations, circulars and local policies.

5.To ensure that statutory assessments within the team are completed within relevant
timescales in a professional and timely manner.

6.To implement the Council's policies on equal opportunities. on challenging discrimination and disadvantage and, in particular, to understand the implications of equal opportunities policies in dealing with parents and schools in matters of

9.To have due regard for the efficient use of resources.

- Experience in the field of SEN and training in legislation, policy and procedure.
- Degree in education or equivalent professional qualification/experience.
