Job description: Educational Psychologist -Educational Psychology Service - Doncaster

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an Educational Psychologist to work within the EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY SERVICE in Doncaster.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the extremely busy and well renowned Educational Psychology Team within Doncaster Council.

This experienced and qualified Educational Psychologist is required to cover peak in work in the service and focus on a range of duties including:

1. To support and advise a defined group of schools, working in partnership with staff in early years settings and other community based colleagues across the city. To identify and assess the special educational needs of children and young people within one or more areas of the city.
2. To deliver appropriate evidence-based interventions for children and young people to pro-mote excellent academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
3. To assist the local authority in meeting its statutory duties towards children and young people with SEN, disabilities and other barriers to learning.
4. To advise the local authority on appropriate provision or arrangements to meet the needs of individual children, and vulnerable groups including LAC
5. To maintain appropriate records and excellent case- file management for all work undertaken.
6. To work in close partnership with a range of professional groups including Health and Social Care as well as voluntary agencies to develop high quality psychological advice on promoting emotional wellbeing and mental health for young people.
7. To contribute to training and professional development of colleagues within the Service as well as maintaining personal records.
8. To support and supervise students on placement with the Service as part of their professional doctoral training.
9. To follow the AEP/BPS/HCPC codes and ethics for behaviour and good professional practice at all times.
10. To participate in/contribute to the city's appraisal and performance management requirements, attend team and whole Service meetings, and engage in regular support and supervision.

This role will be initially until the end or April to cover absence, however there is the possibility for an extension.

Excellent pay rate £400 - 450/day dependent on experience.


For this position, you must have:

* Professional qualification as an Educational Psychologist
* Has maintained a history of Continuous Professional Development including early years
* Has sufficient flexibility to undertake some evening/weekend work (home visits, meetings and training)
* Ability to travel between work sites during the week.
