Job description: Environmental Health Office - Luton
Temp Contract

A growing team, Public Protection are working against a busy case schedule and require support on a backlog of applications. The job holder will be responsible for keeping accurate pocket book and computer based records, witness statements and basic reports.
Essential Experience:
*Experience within noise pollution Security Clearance Investigation.
*Experience in investigating commercial and domestic statutory nuisance complaints , in particular noise nuisance
*Ability to complete legal documents including PACE notebook and abatement notices
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: %

1Under the supervision of senior officers, investigate a range of complex service requests under environmental protection legislation. Take appropriate action to secure compliance in accordance with the council's statutory duties. Prepare reports, statutory notices and evidence for legal proceedings including seizure of equipment, liaising with the council's legal services and giving evidence in court.

2Analyse data requiring complex manipulation and interpretation. Recommend action on complex matters such as contaminated land or industrial pollution to ensure the environment is protected in accordance with the provisions of relevant legislation.
3Undertake scientific pollution monitoring activities including noise measurements and air sampling to obtain reliable data to help inform decisions on remedial action.

4Maintain the air quality monitoring system and keep appropriate records to verify maintenance standards have been met.

5Prepare statistical and other reports to contribute to and inform service managers, elected members and other stakeholders.

6Maintain accurate records of all interventions undertaken on the service's computer database and, under the direction of the Group Leader, assist in the review and development of existing and new procedures.
