The opportunity


We have a great opportunity for an Electrician to join the team on a permanent basis in Scunthorpe This is a full time role working within a well-established company. The successful candidate will undertake electrical repairs and installations as well as maintenance operations on domestic properties, to support other trade staff in the completion of repairs and maintenance as well as building operations to properties in the fleet. A small amount of decision making will be required when on site and you will work on your own initiative to create the best solutions to maintenance problems that may arise when fault finding. Installations to occupied and empty homes and contacting customers via telephone as required ( work mobile and iPad will be supplied)

Main duties will be:

  • To undertake repairs by fault finding to electrical systems and appliances.
  • To undertake the installation, testing and certification of electrical systems.
  • To carry out repairs by fault finding to heating systems.
  • To carry out electrical safety checks to tenanted and empty properties.
  • To effectively contribute to the provision of accurate records for time and materials to each work order, including the effective receipting of all material advice notes.
  • To take all reasonable steps to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations as well as the Health and Safety Policy.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Electrical craft certificate to NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2391-10 qualification - Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of electrical installations
  • City & Guilds 17th Edition 2382-10 - Certificate in the requirements for electrical installation.
  • City & Guilds 2382-20 - Certificate in requirements for Electrical Installation Update
  • Experience of carrying out relevant installations, repairs and testing within occupied and empty properties.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations.
  • Customer care focused and orientated, dedicated to the provision of an exceptionally high quality service.
  • Knowledge in the use and maintenance of relevant equipment, plant and machinery.

This is a full time position, Working a standard of 37 hours between 8:00am and 18:00pm. Days actually worked may also be varied on a rota basis due to work demands and changing time of the year. Emergency out of hours service provisional to a rota this will involve being on call for repairs and maintenance. Day to day repairs that are planned or emergencies in the timescale agreed with customers.
