Job description: Enforcement Officer - Trading Standards, Bedford
An exciting opportunity has arose working for a Bedfordshire based council as a Enforcement Officer in Trading Standards, this will require the individual to effectively implement and deliver the reactive and planned workload in relation to the relevant Environmental Health & Trading Standards service areas. The role will also require the candidate to provide professional support and advice, in line with appropriate competencies, to local stakeholders and other directorate service areas. To protect and improve the health, safety and well-being of consumers, residents and workers within the Borough at work, at home and at leisure.
The Role
Your key duties within the role will include the following:
-To contribute delivery of relevant objectives outlined in the Environmental Health and Trading Standards Service Plan with a view to improving the health, safety and well-being of consumers, residents and workers within the Borough at work, at home and at leisure.
-To provide professional support and advice, in line with appropriate competencies, to local stakeholders and other directorate service areas.
-To participate in key environmental health and trading standards projects in line with central governments drive towards better regulation.
-To provide prompt and courteous responses to public complaints and other enquiries and ensure all relevant information is recorded, via the service computer database system, to aid performance management monitoring.
-To carry out inspections, investigations, other interventions, produce reports in line with relevant team duties, and instigate appropriate action as determined by the Environmental Health & Trading Standards enforcement policy.
-To contribute by carrying out the necessary work associated with completing annual returns required by various Government Departments, agencies and other bodies relating to the functions of the Environmental Health & Trading Standards.
-To carry out any other similar duties as may be required from time to time by the Head of Environmental Health & Trading Standards.
The Contract
This is a contact starting ASAP up to 27th June 2019, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
