Job description: An opportunity has arisen for a part time Environmental Health Officer vacancy for a local authority in Cambridge. The authority is looking for an EHO with the ability to carry out to full range of Environmental Health Officer duties with a focus on Housing.

The Role:
The successful candidate's role will include the following duties:
-Carry out inspections of premises and complaints within assigned caseload
-Make informed decisions on what is the most appropriate enforcement action following inspections and take suitable action via letters, statutory notices.
-Prepare reports and statements of evidence, as well as attending court and public enquiries as required.
-Ensure relevant standards are maintained within all residential premises, in line with legislation. This involved removing hazards and ensuring fire safety and preventing overcrowding, harassment and illegal eviction.

The Candidate:
To be successful in this role, you will require a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health, as well as a Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board. You will also need to be able to coordinate and organise your assigned caseload and work independently to ensure all required work is carried out.

The Contract:
This is an initial two-month contract, with a chance of extension, running from the end of October until late December. The working hours are 15 per week and are flexible to the candidate.
