Job description: A local authority in Redditch is recruiting for an Estates Officer to be responsible for effective management of estate management, including all landlord and tenant matters.

The Role
The focus of this position is to manage all landlord and tenant matters relating to The Council's building and land assets, including appropriate action in respect of lettings, lease renewals and rent reviews.
The tasks and responsibilities for the role will include:
*To manage the acquisition and disposal of land and property as and when required.
*To liaise with the Income team in their management of the income from the property portfolio, and actioning any property-management issues identified.
*To manage and maintain asset records associated with the statutory obligations and local requirements in respect of the Council's land and properties.
*To provide property related advice and support to Redditch Borough Council Officers and Members.
*To take a systemic view of property management in line with the Council's system thinking approach to service and organisational development.
*To provide a customer focused and effective estate management service.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have at least two years' experience in a similar Estates focussed role and have the following skills and experience:
*Knowledge and experience of operational, non-operational and commercial assets estates management
*Experience of letting, lease and licence negotiations and ongoing management
*Knowledge of local and regional property markets
*Knowledge of Property and Landlord and Tenant Legislation
*Knowledge of valuation principles and methods
*Knowledge of Health and Safety, Planning and Building Regulations

The Contract
This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) on an initial 2 Month contract, which has a strong chance of being extended.
