Job description: Role: External Communications Manager
Location: Paddington, London
Work pattern: Mon-Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 35 hrs
Start date: ASAP
End date: Ongoing temp contract

I'm looking for a communications professional to support a range of external communications campaigns, projects and activities. You will be working within the housing sector and as such experience within housing would be advantageous. The job role will involve managing the company's external communications work programme including media relations, PR, awards, corporate publications and events.


Key Responsibilities
*To manage the Group's external communications work programme, including media relations, PR, awards, corporate publications and events.
*To provide an external communications advice and support service to key business areas.
*To plan, manage and deliver high quality communications projects, campaigns and activities to agreed timescales and budgets, including:
*Media relations: Proactive and reactive media enquiries, media releases and statements, briefings and building relationships with journalists, media advice and interview support, crisis communications.
*Public relations: managing and delivering award submissions, corporate information, photo calls, features, speeches.
*Publications: project managing the production of reports, business brochures and corporate newsletters.
*To brief, oversee and support members of the team to deliver an effective press office service and corporate communications activities to a high standard.
*To monitor, review and report on the performance of the external communications work programme.
*To contribute towards the development of external communication strategies and lead on creating a consistent approach across the Group, including supporting policies and procedures.
*To ensure all communications adhere with brand guidelines.
*To manage the procurement of and relationships with creative agencies and suppliers.
*To assist the Head of Communications with crisis and reputation management, and business continuity.
*To contribute towards the smooth and harmonious running of the team, its systems, processes and administration.

Essential Experience:
*Previous experience working within communications in particular external communications.
*Excellent understanding of marketing/PR communications theories and concepts.
*Excellent IT skills including Microsoft office and any specialist IT skills including Photoshop and InDesign
*Experience with managing social media accounts.
