Job description: One of the largest housing associations in Kent is recruiting for an Extra Care Relief Scheme Manager to provide cover in a number of their Extra Care Housing Schemes in Dartford, Tenterden, Hawkhurst, Dover and Ramsgate.

The Role
The focus of this role is to provide relief cover at a number of schemes across Kent, to cover managers' annual leave and sickness.
The focus in the schemes is managing or advising on housing management issues such as tenancy matters, voids, arrears, incidents, ASB, complaints etc. You will also liaise with the onsite care teams and catering teams. You will work with the Extra Care Service Managers to deliver on projects that drive forward the strategy of improving Older People's lives, including dementia, resident involvement, social inclusion and our wider accommodation strategy. This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Provide cover for Scheme managers throughout Kent where necessary
*Leading your scheme staff to deliver on the contractual requirements of the support and management contracts across Emerald Homes.
*Collaborate with colleagues to promote West Kent's culture of promoting tenant ownership and responsibility to create sustainable tenancies and places where people want to live.
*Help customers to understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.
*Manage, motivate and develop your team to deliver consistently outstanding performance where customers receive a genuine and positive experience.
*Continuously improve the service and financial performance of the Extra Care Homes through monitoring and reporting against performance measures.
*Maximise positive outcomes in the management of empty homes, arrears and community safety

The Candidate
As part of a housing team (not care) delivering excellent customer focused services to the residents living in our extra care schemes, you will have an understanding of the issues facing older people and work closely with your colleagues to deliver positive outcomes for them.

You must be able to work under pressure and on their own initiative. You will be self-motivated, with an energetic approach to engaging with tenants on an individual and group basis, to meet their aspirations around socialisation, healthy living and well-being. You will be able to work flexibly and step in during periods of absence or annual leave to provide cover for colleagues at five schemes across Kent.

You must have a genuine passion for working with older people and an understanding of West Kent's vision to become a leading provider of older people's accommodation. You must be able to demonstrate key values such as compassion, integrity and honesty, which are essential qualities for this role.

With this being a relief role, requiring travel throughout Kent, you must be a driver with access to a vehicle for work.

As you will be working with vulnerable service users, you will also require a DBS to be processed. If you have an existing, clean DBS on the Update Service, this will be beneficial to your application.

The Contract
This is a permanent position, offering a salary of £27,981 and mileage is paid from the nearest Scheme to your home

Referral Bonus
If this role is not suitable for yourself, but you know someone who may be interested, please pass on their details, or forward these details to them.
If they are successful in applying, you will receive a £250 referral bonus upon completion of an initial probationary period.
