Job description: One of the largest housing associations in Kent is recruiting for an Extra Care Scheme Manager to join their service in Sevenoaks on a six month fixed term contract.

The Service
The service this Extra Care Scheme Manager role is based in is an over 55 independent living scheme in Sevenoaks with 52 self-contained apartments. The services provides extra support to help the residents to live independently and offers a mix of independent living, privacy, security and social activities.
Predominantly, the scheme is populated with older residents (80+) and there are some residents with dementia and a lot of residents with various care needs.
There is not a restaurant or care team on site as it is independent but Age Concern are onsite, and they offer meals to residents.

The Role
The focus of this Extra Care Scheme Manager vacancy is to deliver a vibrant and successful extra care scheme ensuring tenants receive a positive customer experience at all times.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Responsible for directly managing five staff members and any bank staff.
*Effectively manage all aspects of housing management services
*Manage rent accounts and voids
*Take ownership of the scheme Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
*Build positive working relationships with external partners
*Develop and maintain a varied activities programme
*Implement any required health and Safety and fire checks for the scheme.
*Ensure safeguarding concerns are dealt with

The Candidate
To be considered for this Extra Care Scheme Manager role, it is essential that you have previous scheme management experience, ideally within an Extra Care Scheme. You will also be knowledgeable in all aspects of housing management.
You will also need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
*Good understanding and knowledge of the issues facing the older people's housing sector.
*Knowledge of care and dementia care will be beneficial
*Experience of delivering excellent customer services.
*Able to use Microsoft office packages. Confident using new or bespoke ICT systems and databases.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor written and verbal communication to suit individual needs.
*Ability to build relationships and gain trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
*Ability to make confident decisions in any situation using sound judgement.
*Take practical, solution focused approach to solving issues in a timely manner.
*Appropriate level of fitness to be able to respond to emergency situations and key aspects of the role.
As this Extra Care Scheme Manager role is working with vulnerable service users, you will also require an enhanced DBS check, ideally on the update service.

The Contract
This Extra Care Scheme Manager vacancy is on a 6-month fixed term contract, covering a period of long term sickness.
The office is open seven days a week, but the Extra Care Scheme Manager and Assistant tend to work 9-5 Monday to Friday, with 4 assistants covering the weekends, though there will be some requirement for weekend work in this role.
The role is offering a pro rata salary of circa £28,000 DOE.
