Job description: Female Housing Support Worker - Bradford
A specialist, Yorkshire based housing association are recruiting for a Female Support Worker to join their team in Bradford, to provide housing related support and assessment at their female-only homelessness hostel, on an temporary contract.

The Role
As a Housing Support Worker, your role will be to provide housing related support to individuals who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness and have multiple complex needs.
*You will be providing guidance and assistance with benefits claims and tenancy sustainment.
*You may also need to make referrals to outside agencies, relating to domestic violence, mental health, drug and alcohol.
*You will be required to carry out standard housing checks, such as fire safety and legionella checks.
*Youi will be carrying out 1-1 support plans, and making risk contingency plans and assessing the needs of service users.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require extensive experience of providing tenancy and benefit related support to service users at risk of homelessness. It will also be highly beneficial if you have experience of referring those with complex needs to relevant agencies and a strong understanding of those complex needs.
As the hostel where the role is based is female only, only female support workers are able to apply for the role. Though the base of the role is in a female only hostel with 20 beds, there is a mixed scheme onsite also, where some support will take place with male service users also. The total service has 40 beds.
As the service users are vulnerable, an enhanced DBS is a requirement for the role.

The Contract
This is a full time role, working 37 hours for an initial 4 week contract, with a chance of being extended.
