Job description: A North East based housing association are recruiting for a Night Support Worker to join their Newcastle Integrated Domestic Abuse team to deliver quality support in in service users' times of need and also contribute to the management of a specialist help line and guidance within a 24-hour support service, over the Christmas Period.

The Service
This Night Support Worker role is based within a sheltered housing service for females who have experienced domestic violence, and as such, only female applicants will be considered.

The Role
The focus of this Night Support Worker role is to provide a safe and secure environment whilst providing basic support to clients, in order to promote independent living within the relevant parameters, as well as to manage security of a number of sites/premises ensuring clients are living in harmonious, safe and secure environment.
This Night Support Worker role will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*To assist clients, by providing support in a flexible and person centred way, delivering practical task, which address their needs and aspirations, through assisting in the implementation of support plans.
*Ensure licence agreements and house rules are adhered to and maintain harmony within the Project between it and its neighbours within the community.
*To adhere to individual client risk assessments through effective communication and rapport building with the client and escalate risk as necessary.
*Ensuring the overall safety and security of the scheme.
*Effectively managing incidents of crisis intervention and anti-social behaviour. This can extend to assisting staff across at other sites as required.
*To ensure a high standard of service delivery is achieved
*Act as a key holder for support services outside of office hours.
*Maintain high standards of cleanliness within schemes, preparation of rooms and site inspections.
*Effective recording of information to enable Support Service Worker and Support Service Coordinator to update support plans and risk assessments in a timely manner
*Ensuring culture and diversity issues have been considered across the client group and to tackle any forms of discrimination, adhering to equality and diversity procedures.
*Attend all supervision sessions and team meetings and discuss all aspects of the service users and the scheme performance and health and safety issues.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Night Support Worker role, it is essential that you have previous experience, or minimum NVQ Level 2 of working with and supporting clients who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse and the ability to understand support plans, risk assessments, safeguarding policies, and procedures.
You will have previous, demonstrable experience in a high volume working environment as well as having a good standard of secondary education, particularly in English. You must have the ability to understand and perform support administration.
In this Night Support Worker role, you will be working in a service with vulnerable service users, you will also require a DBS to be processed. If you have an existing, clean DBS on the Update Service, this will be beneficial to your application.

The Contract
This is a part time Night Support Worker role, working the following, designated hours:
The working times would be 21:00 through to 7:30 (lone working) and you would need to be available to work 16th, 18th, 19th, 21st 23rd 24th and 29th December 2020.
