Job description: Are you looking for a Finance manager job in Bradford?
We are in need of an experienced accountant and manager in Bradford to assist and lead our large accounting team!
This role is a large step forward and challenging work, however highly rewarding and with plenty of potential to further develop your knowledge and career. High levels of initiative as well as professional and managerial competence are required for this role.
Daily tasks:
-Provide advice that reflects the council's policies and beliefs.
-Organise, present and participate in training events in order to inform and improve on the skills of the finance team and teams outside finance.
-Carry out staff appraisals and monitor staff development.
-Mentor staff members in order to promote development and learning.
-Assist in the recruitment process for staff.
-Ensure compliance with all financial regulations as well as procedures within the company.
-Deliver the values and strategic objectives of the councils services thought providing advice on financial matters and providing innovative solutions to issues.
-Make large contributions to develop and drive forward changes in the Council.
-Develop relationships with top level management and senior officers, as well as other council services in order to ensure smooth and effective operation.
-Seek to improve the performance and development of the financial service.
-Represent the finance team with professionalism and high personal standards for integrity.
-Preform ad-hoc tasks in order to meet the needs of the Council.
As well as this there are many more in-depth tasks that will have to be completed.
-Present and prepare reports for the business service manager and assistant director.
-Provide a high quality finance service which is continually improving by reviewing challenging and overseeing the implementation of change.
There are some essential characteristics required in a potential applicant:
-5 years' experience in a finance setting.
-2 years post qualifying experience at a senior level in a complex organisation.
-Record of achievement in the finance sector.
-Professional finance qualification.
-Understanding how to improve and deliver financial services.
-Report writing and analytical skills
-Assertive and influential while also being sensitive when it comes to colleagues and client groups.
-Able to work in a high pressure environment.
-Able to motivate and lead.
-Hands on experience with pc databases and using spreadsheets to improve financial information.

Hours: Mon-Fri 9-5
