Job description: Finance & Income Officer - Loughborough
A Local Authority in Loughborough are recruiting for a Finance & Income Officer to provide a comprehensive Income service to tenants and private residents.

The Role
The focus of the role is to provide a comprehensive Income service to tenants and private residents and ensure that the services provide quality improvements, value for money, and excellent customer care at all times. This will include the following responsibilities:
*Create new tenancies and monitor terminated tenancies.
*Daily updates to QL Housing Management system.
*Control suspense accounts, identify and post unposted cash relating to rent and other income.
*Ensure the Tenants Contents Insurance Scheme operates effectively, and assist with any recovery of outstanding charges as necessary.
*Reconciliation and input of banking transactions through the cash system to the financial management system.
*Check all new tenancy rent accounts have been set up correctly, reconcile the opening balance and send new rent cards.
*Ensure relevant records relating to account control are maintained e.g. housing stock controls, cash receipting.
*As properties are terminated ensure that the rents are updated to reflect the target rent on a daily basis.
*Request that payroll deductions are made from CBC employees' wages towards rent accounts as necessary.
*Identification and input of rejected items received by Direct Debits to the cash management system and QL.
*Make arrangements with customers to clear their debt ensuring the arrangement is affordable taking into account the customers' income and expenditure.
*Deal with written, telephone and office enquiries from debtors to ensure all appropriate recovery action is taken.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require the following skills and experience:
*Experience of working within the social housing sector
*IT literate and experienced in the use of a variety of IT systems including MS Office
*Background in work involving financial transactions.

The Contract
This is a PART TIME role, working 17 hours per week.
Initially, this will be a 6 week contract, running until the end of February, though there is a good chance the role will be extended.
