Job Description

A Local Authority based in Gloucestershire is looking for a Principal Finance Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month basis. The postholder will support the provision of a comprehensive financial service, including support of budget preparation, maintenance and closure of accounts, and maintenance of financial systems. To ensure that financial management, accounting and budgetary control/reporting arrangements are working effectively and to assist in providing a financial service to Budget Managers and Budget Holders.

Ideal Candidate

  • Prior experience of working in a Local Authority finance team preferred
  • Experience of financial modelling and production of budgets
  • Experience of using computerised financial systems and spreadsheets to and advanced standards
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with great communication skills
