Job description: Service Care Solutions are recruiting a Finance Support Officer to work in Colwyn Bay on a 12 week on going contract.

Pay- £9.75 an hour

Job Role
Responsible for processing all creditor invoices, raising official orders and processing payments in accordance with the late payments directive, Conwys contract procedure rules, financial regulations and financial codes of practice.

Job Specific
*Process all order request forms, ensuring accuracy of inputting the data into the agreed commitment system. Organise the processing of invoice discrepancies monitoring prompt approval and payment in accordance with our client's financial codes of practice and performance targets.
*Generate Official orders using the agreed commitment accounting software, ensuring accuracy of usage of expenditure codes, and maintenance of the system.
*Obtain approval for official orders daily, ensuring approvals are within the Officers authorised signatory limit.
*Process the payment of creditor invoices on a daily basis obtaining approval in accordance with Officers agreed authorised signatory limit and checking the backing information is included and saved
*Reconcile all orders and payments with the agreed job costing system on a daily basis, ensuring accuracy of inputting of data
*Ensure correct allocation of sub-contractor tax in accordance with the HMRC Construction Industry Scheme Guidance for Contractors and Subcontractors
*Assist with the checking of contract compliance and rates and processing of invoices for home to school transport.
*Archive financial data and organise retention and destruction in accordance with the Authority's Records Management Policy.

*Further/Higher Education qualification to AAT level and/or experience/knowledge of Accounting and Financial procedures
*IT skills in ledger packages, spreadsheets, word processing, and e-mail system
*Highly Numerate
*Communicate clearly and concisely
*Able to work on own initiative
*The ability to communicate in English is essential.
*Liaise with External Auditors and other relevant External Bodies (Welsh Government, Wales Audit and KPMG, APSE etc.)
*Able to make decisions in accordance with Financial Regulations.
