Job description: Service Care Finance Recruitment, are delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Controller for one of our clients in Hull.

Permanent Contract

Salary £50,000 to 65,000

The Role
This is a great opportunity for an individual who wants to be part of an inspiring and commercially driven business. The role requires both technical and strategic excellence as our client is continuing to grow, both organically and now accelerated by its recent acquisition by TCC. Working with an established team of Senior Managers you shall be responsible for looking after the UK, Prague and Amsterdam offices in conjunction with a team of three.

The role entails a hands-on approach to Finance in conjunction with developing the current finance function to support the business as it is driven forward, post the recent sale. You will be a strong team player with the ability to convey financial information in easily understood formats. Your hands-on approach and passion for working in a creative environment will make you effective in this role. In addition to standard accounting activity, you will also play a key role in producing annual budgets with key stakeholder input and building plans for future forecasts.

As Financial Controller you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the entire function, including development of the team and acting as a financial sounding board for CFO/COO and the leadership team. The ability to build relationships within your team and other key stakeholders are absolutely essential to the success of this role.

Requirements

Desired Experience and Skills
Ideally you will have started your career in practice accountancy before moving in to a role within marketing, ecommerce, professional services, FMCG or the service industry. The candidate should be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 8 years' relevant work experience, ideally 5 of those years post qualified.
It is essential that you are a self-starter with a natural ability to build relationships quickly. This is very much a 'hit the ground running' opportunity and whilst support will be given, it will be up to you to develop your own results.

In addition, you will have previously:
*Provided insightful management information to the CFO and Leadership Teams
*Had the ability to think outside the box whilst looking to add value
*Prepared monthly management accounts
*Delivered budgets and forecasts and advised on variances
*Developed robust growth plans and worked with senior management to fulfil them
*Put in place practices and processes to drive profitability
*Reviewed reports and projections of revenue/sales income against actual figures
*Had strong communication skills both verbally, face-to-face and in writing
