Job description: A Housing Association based in Kent is looking for a Fire Safety Surveyor to join their Housing services team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have a full relevant Fire Safety based qualification, extensive experience dealing with all manner of residential fire protection works, ideally be a member of the IFE/FDIS and have a strong background in Housing/Residential projects.

The main purpose of the role will entail fire door inspection surveys for both flat entrances and communal fire resisting doors with the verification of the type of existing installed domestic fire detection system within properties visited during fire door surveys.
From time to time it will be also necessary to undertake survey inspections to establish the adequacy of, fire stopping and compartmentalisation (including roof spaces).

The main responsibilities associated with the role are as follows;

To ensure that all designated fire risk assessment works are actioned and correctly undertaken within the prescribed timescales.
To ensure that all Optivo properties owned and managed properties are maintained to the highest possible standards and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
To ensure staff, residents, leaseholders, managing agencies and property owners are provided with a high standard of service.
Liaising with the Fire Authorities and ensuring Notice of Deficiencies passive actions are completed within set time scales
To analyse and assess building defects, provide remedial proposals and prepare specifications for remedial repairs. To ensure that specifications are up to date and meet current legislative standards.
To obtain where necessary quotations and estimates, in accordance with our procurement procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

Relevant qualifications and preferably members of recognised organisations such as the IFE Institute of Fire Engineers, ASPF Association of Specialist Fire Protection.
Candidates that are certified members of Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) would also be of great interest.
Extensive experience in residential/housing projects
Full driving licence and access to vehicle.
The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such, are offering a rate of £25.86 p/hr Ltd (Ltd Companies can be used) for the duration of the assignment.
