Fire Risk Assessor - Manchester

Job description: My client, a Housing Association based in Manchester is looking for a Fire Risk Assessor to join their team. This is a full time, Permanent/Temp to Perm position and the successful candidate must have appropriate recognised Fire qualifications along with a full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle.

The main purposes of this Fire Risk Assessor role are outlined below;

To ensure that properties are maintained in a good state of repair, so that value for money, efficiency and high quality is achieved for the company's tenants.
To identify trends in planned and reactive maintenance activities, highlighting common themes, to inform decisions on the most effective means of repair or replacement.
To provide, plan and co-ordinate a comprehensive Fire Risk maintenance service, carried out by client employees or designated contractors, for all areas of the clients operations.
To specify, plan and co-ordinate projects identified as part of the Fire Risk surveys and to ensure that the works are satisfactorily carried out on time and within budget
To carry out Fire Risk surveys and take appropriate action in conjunction with other teams

Other responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

Undertaking fire risk surveying work as directed by the Compliance Manager.
To develop, implement, monitor and provide progress reports on an ongoing Fire Risk, including a cyclical programme and delivery strategy designed to achieve effective reactive & planned maintenance that meets legislative requirements.
Preparing specialist work specifications, drawings and all other contract and tender documents for contractors and consultants, to plan and co-ordinate any works arising out of the surveys, including carrying out tenant/leaseholder consultations, arranging access, and inspection of works to ensure that the project is of a suitable quality.
To ensure that any works arising out of surveys are completed on time and are within budget.

The successful candidate will need to have a Full UK driving licence and access to an appropriate vehicle as travel between sites for carrying out surveys will be required.
The successful candidate will also need to have relevant qualifications credited by the Institute of Fire Engineers or equivalent.
