Job description: A local authority based in North London is looking for a Fire Safety Manager to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have full professional qualifications in Fire Risk/Safety, experience managing teams of operatives and a full understanding of compliance, health and safety in relation to fire risk.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the overall lead and management of clear, consistent and quality fire safety management, repairs and improvements, on a strategic and operational level to all the client's housing stock.

The main accountabilities associated with this role are as follows;

Provide advice and make recommendations based on up to date specialist knowledge and analysis / evaluation of information.
Manage escalated or complex customer issues within the specialist area.
Contribute to the development of service plans to meet strategic business goals.
Lead on the development, implementation, maintenance and management of systems, policies, procedures and/or standards within area of responsibility.
Work closely with others to support/Manage the development and delivery of improvements in processes and procedures.
Prepare and present a full range of reports (both standard and non-standard) covering area of responsibility.
Manage a portfolio of Projects and Reviews
Lead on specific projects as required.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;

Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulation for managing fire safety
Experience of setting up monitoring systems to assess risk
Carry out inspections
Experience managing a team ensuring compliance
Experience of delivering training
Developing and delivering policy and procedures

The successful candidate will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent, hold appropriate Fire & Health/Safety qualifications and ideally be a member of a chartered institution.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £325 p/day Umbrella Ltd - £375 p/day Umbrella Ltd (dependant on experience and qualifications) for the duration of this role.
