Job description: Floating Support Officer, Bedford
A large housing association are recruiting for a Floating Support Officer to join their team in providing support to individuals across a patch in Bedford, on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.

The Role
The client's aim to aim is to improve the quality of life of their customers, building confidence and skills to allow them to live independently while playing an active role in their communities. They view all our customers as individuals with specific needs, treating them with respect and dignity, and focusing on achieving real results.
The focus of the role is to cover an area within Bedford,
*In accommodation based services, liaise closely with the Housing Management Team to identify problems with Housing Benefit payments, review rent collection and address other tenancy related matters
*Create an environment that promotes opportunities for customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence
*Ensure appropriate records are maintained
*Support customers to develop the necessary skills to live independently, and to access training, education and work.
*Comply with all relevant policies & procedures, including but not limited to: Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Customer Care, Equality & Diversity, the Code of Conduct etc.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience providing support to vulnerable individuals, ideally with a focus upon tenancy sustainment. You will also require the following skills:
*NVQ level 1 or above in Health and Social care desirable however not essential
*Basic Numeracy, IT and literacy skills
*Strong time management skills
As this is a floating role, you will require a driving license and access to a vehicle to enable you to visit customers in their own homes. Due to the nature of the service users, you will require a DBS check to be carried out also. If you have an existing DBS on the update service, this will be highly beneficial.

The Contract
This is a full time role, working 9:00-17:00 Monday to Friday on an initial 6 month fixed term contract with a strong chance of becoming permanent beyond this.
The annual salary is £19,000 pro rata.
