Fostering Team Manager

Job description: Childrens Fostering Team Manager, Dundee

In partnership with a large private client, I am currently looking to appoint a Team Manager based in their Fostering Team. The manager will work along side the Operations Manager to plan, review, develop and grow the service, as well as to lead and manage the staff team in the delivery of an effective and efficient service, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met.

The post is for an initial 3 months with pay rates of up to £18ph.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To work with the operations manager in service planning, design and review to set clear, ambitious and achievable targets for the service

2. Maintain an up to date understanding of regulatory and legislative requirements for fostering and/or adoption services and ensure that the service meets these requirements and that any changes in these requirements are implemented as appropriate.

3. Work with Operations Manager to set annual budget. Take responsibility for monitoring and managing budget, raising at earliest opportunity any challenges or potential variances.

4. Seek opportunities to publicise the work of our clients particularly their fostering and adoption services.

5. Recruit, manage and develop staff in your team, ensuring full appraisal process is undertaken, including setting and reviewing of objectives and development needs.

6. Liaise with other fostering and adoption teams to ensure that there is out of hours cover for the service

7. Seek opportunities for service improvements and implement these or raise with Operations manager as appropriate

8. Work with Locality Volunteer Advisor to develop opportunities for volunteers in support of the objectives of the service and the wider aims of our client strategic business plan.

9. To be responsible for case recording in line with our clients standards and using set recording tools and systems

10. Produce and present reports to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate, such as Family Placement Senior Management Team, court reports, reports for fostering and adoption panels.

11. To be responsible for the planning and co-ordination of the statutory review of foster carers

12. To be responsible for overseeing the assessment of foster carers using the regulated Form F assessment.

13. To work alongside others in the preparation, organisation and delivery of training to foster carers and adopters.

14. As directed, work with colleagues to develop a framework of internal processes to ensure quality and demonstrate performance improvement.

Requirements:
- Recognised professional qualification in social care and appropriate
- Post qualification experience of working with Children and Young People in a family Placement setting
- Supervision and appraisal of staff/students/ volunteers
- Experience of budget management
