Job description: Freedom of Information Officer, Stevenage
A vacancy has opened for Freedom of Information Officer, for a local authority in Hertfordshire, to manage the land charge service and produce quality, accurate and fast provision of land and property information.

The Role
Your main responsibilities within this role will include the following:
-Data Protection - provision all personal data to applicants in accordance with their legal rights.
-Freedom of Information/ Environmental Information - provision of all requested information allowed within the provisions of the Acts.
-Land Search Service - to manage the Service on a daily basis to ensure efficient processing of Searches, meeting all statutory and legal requirements.
-Local Government Ombudsman - Working in partnership with the LGO to provide all information required to enable a full and fair investigation
-National Fraud Initiative - to act as the Council's contact for the supply of data from its databases to the National System and to investigate all possible fraud irregularities
-Invoices - Verification and payment for goods and services

The Candidate
To apply for this role, you will need to be available immediately, as this role is covering a period of long-term sickness.
To be successful within the position, you will require previous experience within an information provision role and have a good understanding of data protection and freedom of information as well as experience of invoice processing, producing reports, answering queries and specific information, in a quick and timely manner.

The Contract
This is a full time contract, working 37 hours per week, over an initial 2-month period.
