Front End Developer

Job description: My Client, a digital marketing agency offering enterprise services in Central Manchester, is currently looking for a Front End Developer to join their current team.

Founded early in the millennium, the company has been established for over 16 years, and has a range of clients including the likes of Swinton Insurance, BPP University, and others. They are now looking to add to the team, as they are inundated with new projects and need a new pair of hands on deck!


Responsibilities

* Maintain source code in relevant source control system, along with the required documentation.
* Adopt the company QA processes to check coding, both your own and colleague's coding.
* Be proactive with regards to self-learning and sharing new techniques or methods with your team. You must be willing to solve any issues that arise, sometimes outside of your core work.
* Assist the team with any areas of the business when required, including assistance with tenders, pitches, and general strategy.
* Communicate well with both clients and colleagues, as well as working efficiently to meet deadlines, all completed in a professional manner.


Your abilities and aspirations

To be a good fit for the environment in this client's office, you will likely have the following traits;

* You can get irritated when elements of work don't work correctly or look right, such as pixels being out of place.
* You will be able to work on older projects (eg. ie8 or ie9 etc.) and not just modern technologies.
* You like to make things look amazing, not just at break points, but across all viewport sizes.
* You are commercially aware, and have an understanding of timings of projects, and deadlines.

Experience

Required:
* Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery
* Ability to create cross browser, and responsive templates
* UX and UI understanding on both desktops and mobile devices
* Eye for detail

Desirable:
* Knowledge of front end frameworks, particularly either React, Angular, or Ionic.
* Any back-end knowledge such as PHP or NodeJS is useful, as the client does use open source technologies
* Database experience (NoSQL, Relational, etc.)
* Experience of development in mobile apps using Cordova (or other mobile frameworks).
* Understanding of Design Principles, including colour usage, white space control, typography, and grid layouts.
