Job description: My Client, a local authority in Hampshire, is currently looking for a Front End Developer to work on an initial 6 Month Contract.


Main Responsibilities:

* create and iterate prototypes to test and communicate ideas
* work with user researchers and content designers to turn concepts into user-centered services
* ensure that the design of services is consistent, both internally and with the rest of the sites
* contribute to the development of design patterns and standards
* ensure that user interfaces, content templates, interactions and rich media are accessible to users
* contribute to content strategy by ensuring that front-end functionality can be managed effectively and consistently in the Content Management System


Skills Required:

Essential;

* Significant experience web development, including:-
o design, build and test accessible, user-centred interfaces and transaction flows
o create and iterate UI prototypes to test and communicate ideas
o ensure that the design of services is consistent, both internally and with the rest of the site
* Experience of XML and JSON, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, libraries such as jQuery.
* Ability to diagnose routine technical/business issues and contribute to their resolution.
* Effective communication & interpersonal skills with end users, non technical & technical colleagues, including written and oral.
* Problem solving ability
* Able to work on own initiative
