Job description: Health Care Assistant, Band 3, Rochester

Vacancy for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join a multi-disciplinary team, treating children and young persons, based in Rochester.

Working as a member of the multidisciplinary mental health team the post holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision of therapies for young persons. The role is to support clinicians to hold patients in the community while waiting for treatment.

Individual and group work skills are required. Other useful skills would include; behavioural activation, helping young people to get out of the home and set incremental goals to improve wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have an awareness of treatment outcomes, recovery tools, care planning, assessment of risk and have experience in a health or social care setting.

Candidates will ideally have an NVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent, have two years (minimum) working experience in a mental health setting OR foundation degree in health and social care preferred. The candidate must also be a car driver as the role will involve brief travel.

'Special Needs' experience or experience of working with children is extremely beneficial.

The role is to commence ASAP, working Monday - Friday 9-5 / 8-4.
The hourly rate for the role is £11.00 p/h ltd.
