Job description: A Local Authority based in Derbyshire is looking for a Head of Economic Regeneration to join their team. This is a full time, temporary agency role and the successful candidate must have a full relevant qualification, proven experience in Economic Regeneration/Development/Management and ideally experience in a similar local authority setting.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the Council's functions relating to the delivery of enterprise and investment services and place promotion to business, partners and communities to drive growth. To lead the development and delivery of economic development partnership activity
international, regional and local level.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

To provide effective management of the Council's economic regeneration service.
To work with the Derbyshire Economic Partnership to determine local economic growth
priorities and deliver services and economic programmes to deliver objectives.
To represent the economic interests at national and regional level notably through Local Economic Partnership.
To co-ordinate activity with partners to support a coherent Derbyshire offer for both inward
investment and tourism promotion.
To support the delivery of key physical regeneration, housing and infrastructure projects by
providing economic analysis and advice.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

Extensive management experience at a senior level within a complex public, private or partnership organisation.
Strong track record of delivering successful economic development projects and services.
Significant experience of successfully working in partnership with the private sector to deliver projects to support economic growth.
Successful working in partnership with local authorities, business support organisations and agencies to formulate and deliver strategic economic objectives.
Working with elected members in pursuing agreed policy objectives.
Experience of operating a robust performance management framework.
Experience of managing budgets and project financials.

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering a negotiable rate of at least £25 - £30 p/hour Umbrella Ltd dependant on skills and qualifications. (Approx. £620 - £730 take home pay per week after all deductions).
