Job description: An NHS facility based in Wiltshire is looking for a Head of Estates to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must be educated to degree level and above in a relevant field, ideally be a member of a Chartered body (RICS, CIOB, IFM), experience in a similar senior position and ideally evidence of continued professional development.

The purpose of the role is to lead the Estates & Facilities Team supporting front line clinical teams to provide the best care possible whilst enabling financial sustainability through increased efficiency and reduced cost. This will include;

Providing a responsive and customer focussed service helping achieve the highest standards together with policy and strategy implementation.
Ensuring that all elements of the Trust's estates and facilities services are compliant with statutes and regulations, national & local targets and are compliant with the requirements of the CQC and other regulatory bodies.
The majority of these estate services are provided through PFI FM contractors, therefore close & regular liaison with our PFI partners will be crucial.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

To be the principle advisor to the Deputy Director of Estates & Facilities on all estates, facilities, capital, property, land and development issues including the associated risk management.
To directly line manage the Head of Contract Compliance and Head of Facilities, ensuring appraisals are conducted annually, a system of regular 121s is in place and regular communication with the team on Trust issues. Ensuring performance management is carried out effectively.
To directly line manage the Estates Manager, Property Manager, Sustainability Manager, Office Manager & Project Support Officer, ensuring appraisals are conducted annually, a system of regular 121s is in place and regular communication with the team on Trust issues. Ensuring performance management is carried out effectively.
To ensure statutory and regulatory compliance of the Trust Properties, including compliance with all applicable HTM & HBN guidance.
To be the Trust's lead for ensuring compliance with CQC Regulations and the delivery of PLACE standards to support assurance and continuous improvements around the patient environment.
To provide close & regular liaison with our PFI partners on all estate & facilities related operational, technical & performance matters.
To liaise with and support the Head of Contract Compliance on PFI contractual matters & performance.
To develop and lead the estates capital programme schemes, as well as being responsible for overseeing the delivery of all PFI variation and life cycle works by our PFI partners.
