Job description: 1. Management of team providing service delivery on all aspects of income collection of circa £137 million per annum across all tenures including, quarterly sundry debtor invoices production; monthly sundry debtors' reports and a full range of services to ensure delivery for all aspects or rents including receipts inputting;
2. Responsibility for all rent setting processes across all tenancies and re-lets, documenting procedures and escalating issues to appropriate forums; make recommendations on opportunities to improve how we work.
3. Overall responsibility for delivering the annual rent review ensuring all regulatory time frame are met and that the process is legally complaint with the Rent Standard.
4. Work closely with management accounts to produce annual rent budgets and monitor monthly performance.
5. Carry out monthly suspense account reviews; liaising with Income team whilst identifying opportunities to improve rent cash allocation and arrears recover; undertaking monthly reconciliation with Northgate and review of rent cash clearance accounts.
6. Management of process around rent related balance sheet reconciliations are produced to a consistent format and an agreed frequency and timetable having considered impact of any movements
7. Responsible for weekly rent interfaces and rent accounting data completion
8. Delivery of clear audit procedures in accordance with legislation including meeting requirements of external Auditors'; addressing audit recommendations within agreed timetable and quality standards.
9. Ensure coding and administrative structures on both Housing (currently Northgate) and Finance (currently SUN) meet business needs in relation to controlling and reporting rents activity. Develop and maintain simple coding structure that enables transparency, accuracy, good customer service and good management reporting. Provide staff training
10. Highlight and recommend activities where information being reported is deficient and implement solutions
11. Ensure that a regular data accuracy review is in place (Cognos report). Errors reported immediately to the appropriate team. Ensure input efficiencies are reviewed and enhanced regularly
