Job description: Head of Senior Living, London & Essex
A large, London-based, Housing Association are recruiting for a Head of Senior Living to manager five supported housing sites across Haringey and Essex.

The Employer

Already a leading developer and provider of housing, care and support, their portfolio is currently valued at over £50 million and is set to soar over the next few years with a strong development plan well underway.

The Role
This role is located within the Housing Care and Support Department and will have operational responsibility for the Season portfolio of extra schemes. The post holder will have responsibility for delivery of the operating plan and will also be part of the wider management team of HCS. The responsibilities will include:
*Provide a strategic and senior operational lead and knowledge for the Season services, developing our expertise to lead the field in innovative practice and high professional standards.
*Ensure we are delivering safe, effective, high quality care with a focus on improvement.
*Ensure the schemes are service focused and delivering an exceptional customer journey experience from enquiry to moving in.
*Ensure that services deliver independence and reduce use of acute services whilst appropriately managing safeguarding.
*Deliver services in compliance with appropriate statutory regulation and best practice, undertake regular scheme audits and oversee improvement plans
*Build, develop and maintain a high profile for the client as a centre of innovation and expertise for Senior Living services and build key business, strategic and partnership relationships.
*Ensure the delivery of services within contract specifications and compliance, ensuring that there has been appropriate consideration of any specific issues involved in the care and support of customers, e.g. safeguarding issues.
*Build, develop and maintain key business, strategic and partnership relationships.
*Ensure services are customer focused and commercially viable by supporting General Managers to deliver their Sales Plans to achieve occupancy targets and that 'first impressions' standards are maintained
*Take responsibility for the management of Senior Living services within the remit, including agreeing and delivering sustainable contract specification and prices, commissioning new services and developing and updating existing services.
*Manage and motivate the General Managers to deliver the service contracts in a financially sustainable and efficient manner, delegating effectively where appropriate.
*Ensure General Managers are controlling payroll costs and staffing in order to target zero agency usage.
*Manage the overall Senior Living budget including the control of business unit budgets.
*Undertake monthly CQC audits (Heads of Checks) and ensure improvement plans are implemented in an effective and timely manner
*Work with General Managers to ensure compliance with all CQC legislation. Be driven to achieve 'Outstanding' and be able to communicate how to deliver this with the mangers.

The Candidate
To be considered for this vacancy, you will require you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
*Self-manage, plan, deal with complexity, prioritise workload and work under pressure.
*Use flexible, responsive management styles to resolve conflict, solve problems, elicit performance and motivate, support and direct staff.
*Construct and maintain the commercial offer that underpins contracted support and extra care services.
*Plan and prioritise resources, to effectively meet corporate objectives.
*Assess risk and use this and strategic thinking in effective delegation, decision-making and responsibility-taking.
*Represent the organisation at a high level and influence key decision makers.
*Recent senior experience in:
*Delivering excellent older people's services in the statutory, voluntary or third sector, including sheltered housing and extra care with experience in a Regional Management/Operations level role.
*Strategic change management, in a changing and ambiguous environment, to achieve continuous quality improvement.
*Performance management techniques, including task and competency analysis and self-development techniques.
*Extensive knowledge of current legislation and best practice in older people's services, and the ability to use this knowledge to develop staff and services.
*Confident in the operational and strategic areas of safeguarding adults.
*A strategic understanding of the national policy context for housing care and support services.
*Knowledge of the regulatory framework for supported housing and care services including CQC requirements.
*Experience of commissioning and opening new senior living schemes with management through to full occupancy
*Previous General Management or Regional Management of Extra Care services. Professional Qualifications and Membership
*Honours degree, preferably a 2.1 or minimum of 2 good 'A' Levels with relevant work experience; or equivalent work experience.

The Package
This is a full time, permanent role, working 35 hours per week. The salary on offer is £66,000 and you are entitled to 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, as well as the following additional benefits:
