Job description: My client, a local authority based in West London is looking for a Head of Asset Management & Compliance to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency contract and the successful candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role, full qualifications and ideally chartered member status along with experience in local authority projects.

The main purpose of the role is to plan and deliver an asset management strategy, which provides the basis for the Council's planned maintenance and capital delivery spend. The Asset Management and Compliance Data will develop and maintain expert relationships across a range of Health and Safety areas to proactively engage their support both in preventative work and developing a long-term investment approach. The role will also develop relationships with peers across London and nationally to ensure that the approach is joined up and consistent.

The main responsibilities of the role will include the following;

Responsible for the Programme Management team maintaining current housing stock to the required minimum standard as set out by the government required standard and in line with Council's objectives.
Management of key internal stakeholders, to include, finance, property services and neighbourhoods as well as key external stakeholders to include local authorities, government bodies, TSA, HCA, HSE and consultants.
Responsible for ensuring the appropriate and auditable recording of health and safety compliance information, including: fire, gas, asbestos, electrical, lifts, legionella and playground equipment. Ensuring that the council's approach is up to date with best practice and emerging requirements
Own and manage the relevant asset management and compliance databases to provide the basis of planning an investment strategy for the Council's housing stock which achieves health and safety compliance and invests in the council's asset.
Ensuring that appropriate governance is in place to determine the allocation of capital resources to deliver the Council's asset and compliance management strategy and plan.
Liaise and provide direction to capital delivery teams on the Council's asset management and investment approach.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

RICS qualification
Understanding of Stock asset registers/ asset management databases
Experience of writing asset management strategies
Housing sector experience within planned maintenance arena
Experience of planned works and large-scale projects within housing sector

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such, are offering £300 p/day Umbrella Ltd (approx. £920 NET p/week after deductions) for the duration of the role.
