Job description: I am currently recruiting for an Arabic speaking, community based Homeless Prevention Support Worker for a local authority in Leicester.

The Role:
The key focus of this role is to provide a high quality housing related support service to vulnerable people in order to enable them to live independently in the community and sustain housing. You will be supporting vulnerable people, often with chaotic life styles, including entrenched single homeless people, rough sleepers, those with substance use issues and people with community care needs into independent accommodation, empowering them to live more independently.
Your aim will be to facilitate the transition for service users moving into independent accommodation and maintain tenancy support and assist in identifying and developing a support network in the community for those wishing to live independently.

The Candidate:
For this position, it is essential that you are a fluent speaker of Arabic. To be successful in the role, you will have an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, with housing related support needs, including dependency needs, homelessness and general life skills. You will also need to have a good working knowledge of housing benefits and applications, to enable you to walk
Experience in a Support Work role will be highly beneficial as this will provide you with practical experience of providing front line advice and assistance, to a wide range of vulnerable people, either in hostel work/supported housing or tenancy support, resettlement work or related field.

The Contract:
This an initial three-month contract covering an increased work-load, though there is a good chance that the contract will be extended, or even become permanent.
The role is full-time working 36 hours per week, between the hours of 9.00 and 17.15.
