Job description: A national charity and local authority based in Oxford are working together to help all rough sleepers in the Oxford area in to temporary accommodation, for the duration of the Coronavirus pandemic, to help prevent the spread. To assist with this they are recruiting for a Hostel Project Worker with previous housing or homelessness experience.

The Role
The purpose of this role is the support of rough sleepers in their new temporary accommodation. You will be working within a temporary housing hostel providing necessary support with minimal interaction and contact. This will include the following taks and responsibilities:
*Delivering food and supplies to client rooms (no interaction)

*Responding to client emergencies
*Supporting client welfare
*Completing emergency errands for clients including: shopping, picking up prescriptions and any other vital supplies
*Occasionally accompanying clients on only essential appointments
*Support volunteers to understand and carry out their duties
Training and PPE will be provided.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, it is vital that you have strong working experience in at least one of the following sectors: housing, homelessness, substance misuse, tenancy management, hostel or mental health. Due to the nature of the service users, you will require a DBS with adults barred checks, so if you have one on the update service, this will be highly beneficial to your application also, though we can process a new one for you.

The Contract
This is a full time position and there will be an option of day or night shifts, running 08.00-20.00 and 20.00-08.00. This is a temporary contract, running initially until mid-June, but may be extended, depending on the Coronavirus situation.
