Job description: Housing Allocations Manager, Hammersmith and Fulham
A London Local Authority are looking to recruit a Housing Allocations Manager, to provide the fair allocation of secure Council housing, nominations to Registered Providers, mobility schemes and other housing options in line with the Council's Allocations Plan and Scheme of Allocation. Will also be tasked to provide advice and information in relation to the assessment of need for sheltered and adapted housing.

The Role
Your key duties within the role will include the following:
-To deliver the fair allocation of secure Council housing, nominations to Registered Providers, mobility schemes and other housing options in line with the Council's Allocations Plan and Scheme of Allocation.
-To provide advice and information in relation to the assessment of need for sheltered and adapted housing.
-To work alongside partners including Registered Providers, sub-regional partners and Council departments to ensure integrated and effective delivery of rehousing services in the borough.
-To be responsible for the delivery of the service within budget and produce periodic budget monitoring information.
-To deputise for the Head of Allocations, Home Buy and Property Solutions as necessary.
-To be responsible in line with Corporate and Departmental procedures for the direct line management of staff, carrying out all aspects of staff management including appraisals, target setting, recruitment and induction, evaluating training needs and providing training as necessary
-To manage and co-ordinate the work of the Allocations Team, delivering a customer focussed service providing all functions related to property allocation to ensure the fair and efficient allocation of secure housing options and temporary accommodation
-To have overall responsibility for the Housing Occupancy Team, directly line managing the Senior Housing Occupancy Officer.
-To liaise with the homeless assessment section on individual cases in order to ensure compliance with the statutory obligation to avoid the use of bed and breakfast for families.
-To contribute to the borough's Allocations Plan and Scheme of Allocation.
-To review monthly housing need for all reasonable preference categories on the Housing Register.
-To be responsible for authorising payments such as travel warrants, relocation and processing invoices for payment as necessary.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of housing and other relevant legislation is needed. Previous management experience of temporary and permanent property allocation services is required. A strong understanding of Northgate IT Systems is a must.

The Contract
This is a full-time role for 36 hours per week, contract starting ASAP and running until 31/08/2019.
