Job description: Housing Coordinator - Newton Abbott
A Newton Abbott based housing association are recruiting for a Housing Co-ordinator to manage and control the facilities within sheltered accommodation and provide administrative support to the Housing Officers managing the Sheltered Housing schemes, as well as assisting in the delivery of efficient letting of empty properties in order to minimise the turnaround times and minimise void costs.

The Role
The focus of the role is to manage and control the facilities within sheltered accommodation and provide administrative support to the Housing Officers managing the Sheltered Housing schemes, as well as assisting in the delivery of efficient letting of empty properties in order to minimise the turnaround times and minimise void costs.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Ensure that properties are accurately advertised through choice based lettings systems. Liaising with local authorities in the event of any difficulties.
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date database of all empty properties, vacancies, nominations and lettings, and liaising with local authorities concerning decisions.
*Carry out tenancy checks to ensure that sufficient information has been provided by the local authority to enable an assessment of nominees' support needs.
*Ensure that properties are let within the agreed timescales, and to check that procedures followed and documentation prepared are accurate and in accordance with policy and procedure.
*Ensure that applications for mutual exchanges are completed within statutory timescales, following Westward's policies and procedures.
*Maintain detailed records and database of all lettings and transfer activity, including internal management performance information and CORE records.
*Provide a liaison point between the locality team and other departments.
*Facilitate the management, booking, security of all communal spaces within the sheltered schemes.
*Effectively and efficiently utilise all systems and software including the accurate inputting of data.
*Arrange and log repair requests for communal areas and liaise with stakeholders
*Support Housing officers to manage their diaries, planning resident meetings including booking meeting space, to support their effective timekeeping.
*With a consideration to lone working and safety precautions monitor the movements of the housing officers within this service area.
*Ensure that customer profiling information is up to date and accurate.
*Assist Housing Officers in dealing with ASB cases.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience within voids and allocations. Ideally you will have previous experience using Devon or Cornwall Home Choice system, but any Home Choice or Choice Based Lettings experience will be beneficial.

The Contract
This is a ten-week temporary contract, working 36.25 hours per week.
