Job description: One of Devon's largest Housing Associations is recruiting for an experienced Housing Officer to provide a high quality and customer focused housing and estate management service to all residents across a patch in West Devon

The Role
The focus of this role is to provide a high quality and customer focused housing and estate management service to all residents, as well as a being responsible for the day to day housing management of properties , including all matters arising directly with residents.
You will manage a portfolio of properties, schemes and estates, across all tenures to the highest possible standard, this will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Advise residents on their tenancies and resolve tenancy and occupancy matters, including neighbour disputes.
*Handle nuisance and anti-social behaviour, including attending Court when necessary.
*Provide housing advice to residents', including possible welfare benefits entitlement and encouraging appropriate claims with the support of other staff teams.
*Signpost referrals for Support, Care, Adaptations and partner agencies. Carry out procedures and administration relating to Tenant Rights
*Support Property services on the management of the voids process including attending pre- void visits when appropriate. Liaise with the Lettings Team and Property Services to complete any necessary work to make the properties available for re-letting as soon as possible.
*Ensure the cleaning of sheltered schemes is undertaken to a high standard including line management of scheme cleaners
*Liaise with the Customer Involvement staff on matters relating to resident participation.
*Undertake estate inspections at an agreed frequency
*Deal with and action all ongoing leaseholder and shared ownership management enquiries.
*Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of landlord and tenant, housing and welfare legislation and the welfare benefit system. Maintain up to date, clear records and statistics in relation to all duties, including computer records.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will be an experienced housing Officer, with strong knowledge of housing and estate management, as well as housing legislation.
You will need to be IT literate and able to manage your own workload and act proactively.
Due to the nature of clients you will be supporting in this role, to apply you will require an enhanced DBS, ideally on the update service.

The Contract
This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The contract is for an initial 3 months, but there is a likelihood it could be extended or become permanent in the future.
