Job description: A housing association is recruiting for an experienced Service Manager for a new Semi-Independent Accommodation service in Cheshunt, which is opening in August 2020.

The Service
This is a new service with 7 beds accommodation in semi- independent living accommodation in Cheshunt, which will provide safe, stable accommodation with 24 hours of onsite support for vulnerable young adults and Care leavers between the ages of 16 to 21.
The Home will provide care and 'move on' support to young people to live independently in the community and high quality supportive accommodation that will enable young adult to develop and thrive towards bright independent future.

The Role
In this role you will be overseeing the daily management of the service, handling the housing management but also preparing the service users for independent living. As this is a new service, opening Summer 2020, you will be involved with the transition of the people you will be supporting into the service, the recruitment of the team and developing the team
The tasks and responsibilities for the role will include:
*Manage the day to day running of the service ensuring the service is smooth and efficiently stable.
*Develop, build and maintain positive working relationships with Local Authorities etc.
*To participate in more individual needs and risk assessments and support reviews where required
*Identify opportunities for the improvement performance of existing service and future developments
*Develop new ways of seeking customer feedback to identify strengths and areas requiring improvement in our service delivery
*To provide reports, information, and statistics as and when required by senior manager
*Have a flexible approach to the work including working evening/night and weekends where required and 'on call' duties
*To assess new referrals and ensure that individual Pathways are adhered to.
*To match new referrals with existing residents
*To monitor and support the delivery of person-centred services to all people using the service.
*To monitor and support the health and safety of both people using the service and support staff
*To ensure that the actions of all staff directly supporting people using the service support their care, protection and well-being, and in compliance with external regulations and standards.
*To provide supervision and support to the team through effective recruitment and selection, coaching and Performance Management as well as Support to manage their team of Support Workers.
*To ensure effective financial administration of the services delivered, through the effective deployment of staff and budgets
*To use and update IT processes to include the completion of accurate rota and timesheet information.
*To work effectively with external agencies to promote the work of Coz Housing and to increase referrals and placements with various local authority in line with defined business targets.
*To develop knowledge and skill of staff teams through delivering service specific training as and when required
*To develop own knowledge and practice relative to continuous service improvement
*A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act 2014 is also necessary

The Candidate
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have at least two years' experience of working with children or young people in a residential, or semi-independent setting, within the last 5 years. You will also require the following skills and experience:
*An experienced, enthusiastic, proactive manager, or deputy manager with experience of working within children's/ young adult services; preferably in a Semi-independent living setting.
*You should have a good understanding of the needs of young people coming through the care system, sound knowledge of 'safeguarding' children and relevant legislation including safeguarding policies and procedures.
*You must have well developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write comprehensive assessment reports. Good IT skill
*You should have practical leadership skills and qualities, organisational skills and the ability to supervise and support a small team to deliver quality outcomes to our users.
*You should be organized with ability to meet deadlines and fulfil obligations.
Due to the vulnerable nature of the clients you will be working with, you will require an Enhanced DBS.

The Contract
This is a permanent, full-time vacancy, offering a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience.
