Job description: I am currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker based at units in Torquay and Brixham. Your hours of work will usually be Monday - Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm. You must have an Enhanced DBS.

We are looking for a candidate that has experience of working with homeless service users, young parents / families and has overall housing support experience.

You will be work in a small team of support workers. The accommodation you will be based at consist of a supported housing service offering accommodation for 12 young parent families in self-contained furnished flats (the maximum stay is 12 months), another of seven flats and the final consisting of 8 flats.

Residents may need appropriate support, encouragement and advice according to their individual needs to enable them to settle into and maintain their accommodation and their own wellbeing, and later to move on.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a service that will achieve key intensive housing management functions, ensure good operational performance and ensure successful move on for tenants/licences.

Duties to include, but not restricted to:

* Updating Open Housing system
* Receipt and logging of keys
* Pre void inspection and liaison of void work/completion
* Assessment of housing need
* Sign up with tenant and completion of tenancy agreement and CORE form
* Action under abandonment policies
* Action under ASB policy
* Management of tenancy, including notices, attendance at court and eviction
* Monitoring of rent accounts and remedial action under arrears policy
* Carrying out regular Health and Safety Assessments
* Co-ordinate and plan move on and resettlement.
* Be responsible for the delivery of housing management services and the safe running of the service on a day to day basis.
* Maximise rent and service charge income by ensuring that losses through arrears and voids are minimised through effective arrears recovery and void management
